Tuhono ki marae: building pathways for Maori
31 January 2019
Manurewa Marae
81 Finlayson Avenue, Manurewa
6pm to 9pm
Our first marae hui will be held this month at the Manurewa Marae and marks our commitment to work more closely with local iwi, hapu and marae.
This grassroots initiative recognises the link between voice, identity and community. We're focused on unravelling what is essential for the takitahi (individual) by involving their whole hapori (community).
Our Board, CEO, GM and Maori development team will represent our organisation at all the hui and are looking forward to capturing the challenges Maori with disabilities face, and to make their voices heard by recording, amplifying and sharing their narrative.
In the coming months, we will be reaching out to three more marae that will represent other Moari communities in north, east and west Auckland.
